Only CO2<\/sub> emissions are included. Domestic consumptions were calculated using the consumption of electricity and the CO2<\/sub> emission factors (EF)of DAPEEP (Study date July 2021) for 2022: PPC EF: 0.40735 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, Elpedison EF: 0.42134 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, HERON EF 0.39087 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, Protergia EF 0.34998 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh and Volterra EF 0.39868 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh.<\/p>\n

For the respective emission abroad, were calculated using the electricity consumption and CO2<\/sub> emission factors of the EIB Project Carbon Footprint Methodologies – January 2023: EKO BULGARIA factor: 0.495 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, JUGOPETROL factor: 0.471kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, EKO SERBIA: 0.678 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, \u039f\u039a\u03a4\u0391: 0.563 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh, and EKO Cyprus: 0.438 kg CO2<\/sub>\/kWh.<\/p>\n

Base year is 2014 where all 5 main buildings of the Group were included. Detailed calculations are included in the Carbon Footprint 2022.<\/p>\n

The total indirect emissions in the base year were estimated at 560,000 tn CO2<\/sub>. Consolidated approach for emissions reporting is based on operational control.<\/p>\n

Calculations for Group companies within Greece are marketbased, whereas calculations for subsidiaries abroad are locationbased.
\nGuarantees of origin corresponding to 28,202.4 tn CO2<\/sub>e of Elefsina Refinery\u2019s indirect (Scope 2) CO2<\/sub> emissions<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n

The sum of indirect emissions (Scope 2) for the Group is 310,494.46 tn CO2<\/sub> eq. Note that emissions from RES are offset and in 2022 the total amount of emission offsets from RES and total guarantees of origin purchased in 2022 corresponds to 66,935 MWh, therefore the avoided emissions are estimated at 28,202.4 tn CO2<\/sub>e. The ELPEDISON factor was used, i.e. it was assumed that the avoided consumption was made by Elpedison (66,935 MWh x 0.42134 tnCO2<\/sub>\/MWh = 28,202.4 tnCO2<\/sub>e).<\/p>\n

Total indirect emissions for the current year were calculated as 310,494.46 tnCO2<\/sub>e + 1,629 tnCO2<\/sub>e \u00a0= 312,123.46 tnCO2<\/sub>e.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
