List of all material topics
In 2022, the Group, through the materiality study process, identified and evaluated the most important ESG issues for its responsible operations. During this process, the issues were assessed based on the degree of impact on the Group’s operations, sustainable development, as well as the economy, society and the environment. Of the 21 issues identified as material, six issues were identified as most important for the Group’s sustainable development, which are:
- Health and Safety of Employees and Associates
- Creation and Distribution of Economic Value
- Reduction of Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
- Corporate Governance
- Critical Incident Management Practices
- Innovation and Digital Transformation
It is important to note that the Group manages and implements best practices for all material issues through the implementation of appropriate processes and systems, while continuously seeking to improve its performance.
Employee and Partner Health and Safety, Creating and Distributing Economic Value, Innovation and Digital Transformation, as well as Risk Management Practices are four issues that remain consistently high priorities for the Group, having been identified as most important during the most recent previous materiality analysis process in 2020.
Given the changes at international and national level (New Greek Corporate Governance Code), a new topic was added among the most important ones, that of Corporate Governance, which highlights the Group’s commitment to apply best governance practices across its business.
A key difference observed in relation to the results of the previous materiality analysis is the emergence of the topic of Reducing Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions among the most important for the Group. The inclusion of this issue as one of the Group’s key priorities reflects its strategic commitment and vision for the energy transition and the creation of a low-carbon economy.
